C is for Crystal

As I leave ordinary reality, I am spirit, etheral, made entirely of energy. I look up, and see the branches of Yggdrasil stretching high into the heavens, cradling dimensions in among Her starry leaves. I look down, and see Her roots reaching deep below, and find my path to the Lower World, my ultimate goal. This is a realm of shadows, of primal instincts and hidden messages. This is where broken children, lost to time, huddle for security, and dark secrets shape our thoughts without our knowledge. It's also where our totems reside, and venturing there can be an informative and insightful journey.

There are many tools which can help one on their way here, but perhaps the most powerful of these is one's Master Crystal. My crystal comes with me on every journey and acts as a light to lead me where I need to go, and helps me focus on what I've come for. Oftentimes there are many messages waiting. Sometimes there is only one, and it is hidden. This pure force protects me, cutting through the murk, showing me the way.

Crystals have long been recognized as useful for healing on mental, physical, spiritual and emotional levels. The vibrations of each one resonate for a particular benefit, and can be used in grids for powerful effects in the community or even the globe. But the relationship between a shamanic practitioner or crystal practitioner and their master crystal is unique, akin to twin souls that each keep a piece of themselves in the other, a bond stronger than love, stronger than blood. It is undefinable, similar to that of a familiar. The pulse of my crystal echoes in my heartbeat, in the rush of blood through my veins. What happens to me happens to my crystal, and vice versa. It protects me and deserves my protection, my respect and my acceptance.
